Kandy City

Located only 10-15 minutes’ drive away from, Kandy is one of the oldest and largest cities in the country. Full of history, it hosts one of the biggest festivals in Sri Lanka, the Perahera. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or known locally as Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a Buddhist Temple devoted to enshrining, according to legend, a tooth of the original Buddha. This tooth is considered one of Sri Lanka’s treasures, and an entire annual festival, known as the Kandy Esala Perahera (a.k.a. the Festival of the Tooth) or Perahera for short, is held between July and August. The temple is only about a half hour drive away from Dendrobium House.


Cultural Kandyan Dance Show

Located close to the temple is a Kanyan Dance Show that is performed daily. One of the most example of native Sri Lankan culture, spanning centuries, the Kandyan dance are ancient ceremonial rituals in the form of a beautiful, calculated dance.


Royal Botanical Garden

Within a 40 minute drive from Dendrobium House is the Royal Botanical Garden. Originating in the 14th century A.D., it contains over 4.00 species of flora, and is renowned for its collection of various orchid species.


Hunnasgiriya Waterfall

The Hunnasgiriya Waterfall, known as the Hunnas Falls for short, is a 75 minute drive from the hotel. It is a manmade waterfall of a humble 48 meters, but it is still a sight to see, with the surroundings beautifully manicured to highlight the falls.
